TVM- Thermische Verwertungsanlage Mainz
An explainer film for Germany’s most compact CO₂-neutral sewage sludge incineration plant in Mainz. The film walks through the entire process – from sludge delivery and drying, through combustion at 850°C, to electricity generation, heat recovery for 4,000+ households, and phosphorus recycling from the remaining ash.
The real challenge? Making sewage look good. The film solves this with crisp 3D animations that reveal the plant’s inner workings through cross-sections and a clean visual labeling system – turning an inherently unglamorous subject into something precise and almost elegant. Real industrial footage grounds the story in authenticity, while the technical visualizations keep a respectful distance from what’s actually flowing through those pipes.
